    Reaction of 1,3-butadiene with hydrogen bromide  yields either 3-bromo-1-butene or 1-bromo-2-butene.
  2. Diels–Alder cycloaddition reaction (Section 14.4 and Section 14.5)
    In a Diels–Alder cycloaddition reaction, when heated, a diene reacts with a dienophile containg a ketone group at C 1 to form a cyclohexene bonded to a ketone group at C 4.
